Wow, 2023 is almost over… Time to look back and share some impressions from the different workshops and excursions this year at Modefachschule Sigmaringen:

Excursion to OLIVENEDER Reutlingen - Thanks to Thomas Lamparter for the guided tour and for all the information about the sutainable leather production !

Embroidery Workshop with lots of basic information about threads, machines and the technical and creative possibiliies with it. And another excursion to Stickerei Keinath in Albstadt where we got an insight into one of Germany’s biggest embroidery houses:

“Experimental Embroidery” is the title of the next workshop and yes, it was really creative and the students could try the most different materials and techniques:

The next excursion brought us to Metzingen and we got a very impressive guided tour through their production halls. Photos were not allowed but at least you can see the happy group here:

DENIM - we all love this material and it’s so cool to upcycle and re-use old denims in most creative ways:

We love to look beyond - so we were very happy to have the chance to visit Industry Perfect in Munich, a company specialised in the production of waistband, bias tape, interlinings and other important materials which people normally don’t realize when wearing garments. We learned how the production is done and had the chance to work with these high quality materials and to make them part of the garment design:
